Exercise Can Add Five Years to Life.
According to a new study in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, adults who spend at least 150 minutes performing physical activity each week can enjoy a prolonged life, versus those who don't. Researchers used data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, the National Health Interview Study mortality lineage and US Life Tables to compare life expectancy at each age for adults who were inactive, somewhat active and active.
