Foods with vibrant colors are more than just eye-pleasing. An abundance of rich color in varietals indicates a richness of flavonoids and carotenoids, powerful compounds that lower inflammation and offer a myriad of other important health benefits. When shopping for produce, it's usually best to search through each bin for the ones most eye-popping in hue-you're more likely to be getting your nutritional money's worth (and they'll probably taste better too).
