Rethinking Antibacterial
Close to 50 percent of soaps sold in the U.S. are "antibacterial" -containing antimicrobial agents-yet there's no solid proof that they're better than regular soap at preventing infection, says the American Medical Association. In fact, antibacterial soaps may be doing more harm than good-by making bacteria stronger and more resistant, which has major implications not only on the individual level but on the whole of humanity.
