Back Pain? See a Chiropractor First, Reduce Surgery Incidence.
Whether a patient has spine surgery has a lot to do with whether they see a chiropractor first or an orthopedist first, recent study says. Mayo Clinic says, "back pain is extremely common...surgery often fails to relieve it." The 4500 participant study goes on to say that those who visited an orthopedic surgeon first were significantly more likely to receive spine surgery within 3 years (42.7% of participants) than those whose first visit was to a chiropractor (1.5% of participants).
